Abstract
Solid and papillary epithelial neoplasm of pancreas(SPEN) is an uncommon low-grade malignant tumor rarely found in young women. Glossly, a SPEN is a large and well encapsulated mass that usually demonstrates variable degree of internal hemorrhage and cystic degeneration. We report a case of SPEN found in a women whose ag;e was 33year old. Abdominal CT¢¥ scan demonstrated 6.Scm sized well marginated and slightly hypodense mass located in head and neck of pancreas. Ultrasonography depicted areas that had inhomogenous internal echo. In gross findings, it was the well encapsulated solid, white-tannish and soft mass with focal small hemarrhage. In microscopic fmdings, the tumor cells were polygonal to oval, having round nuclei and esosinophilic cytoplasm, and arranged to the solid and pseudopa~pillary pattern. The manifestation of local invasion or metastatic disease was not depicted. This tumor showed multiple small areas of hemorrhagic degeneration that was solid friable nature. But cystic cavities were not found.
